Peshawar Public School and College Organized a Two-Day Book Fair
on Nov 04, 2022
The literary society of Peshawar Public School and College, a semi-government school, organized the yearly event, which was attended by a sizable number of students, alumni, and staff members.
In his remarks at the event's opening, principal Prof. Iftikhar Ahmad lamented the fact that pupils had almost completely abandoned reading because of their excessive attention to social media. According to him, such activities will aid in reviving the pupils' reading habits.
He said that for pupils to experience new writers, instructors and parents should spark their enthusiasm for reading. According to him, the book fair offered students and instructors a unique chance to immerse themselves in a world of novel thoughts, writers, and ideas that explored fresher horizons in creativity and critical thinking.
To display books on a range of subjects, including literature, history, geography, science fiction, Islamic history, quizzes, general knowledge, storytelling, national heroes, and the art of sketching, many bookstalls were put up.
Books on broad themes were discounted by 10% to 15%, and books that were relevant to school and college curricula were sold at discounts of 30% to 50%.
The titles that the students chose piqued their curiosity. A speaking competition was conducted after a writing contest in which kids participated and produced essays about the value of the written word. Both the winners and the participants received book sets.
